Common Questions

What parents ask first

Does my child need any roleplay experience?+
None at all. Mr. Vogt has run sessions with complete newcomers and seasoned players in the same group. If your student has never rolled a die in their life, they will be welcomed and oriented from minute one. The only requirement is a willingness to try something.
What if my child is shy or has social anxiety?+
Roleplay is one of the most effective environments for shy kids because the character provides a buffer. Your child is not being asked to be themselves in front of strangers — they are playing a brave ranger, a clever rogue, or a quiet scholar who notices things. The character makes it easier to take social risks. Over sessions, those in-character risks often become real-world confidence. Mr. Vogt has worked with students managing social anxiety throughout his 20-year career.
Is this a good fit for students with ADHD?+
Yes, and it is often a great fit. Story-based learning with hands-on elements tends to hold attention better than sitting and listening. Mr. Vogt holds a Certified Therapeutic Game Master credential and has 20 years of experience working with neurodivergent learners. Sessions are structured without being rigid.
What do the craft materials cost?+
Materials are billed at cost with no markup. You will receive an estimate before each session so there are no surprises. Simpler crafts like map making and bookbinding run lower. More involved crafts like chainmail and resin casting run a bit higher. Families can always ask about a specific session's materials in advance.
What happens on Fridays?+
Friday is convergence day. Both session groups — the Mon/Wed group and the Tue/Thu group — come together for a combined roleplay session where that week's craft artifacts enter the story. It is the weekly payoff, when what your student made becomes part of what the whole group is playing.
What if the session does not fill to 6 students?+
If a session does not reach the 6-student minimum, registered families are notified at least one week in advance and offered a transfer to another session or a full refund. No session runs below minimum.
Can my child attend both June and July?+
Absolutely, and it is encouraged. The story continues across both months. Students who attend both will see their characters grow, their craft skills develop, and their friendships with the group deepen. The Both Months package at $1,000 covers both series plus two bonus items.
