Choose Your Format

Two options. You help us decide.

The Evening Council is launching based on interest. We are offering two possible formats and will confirm which one runs based on what the waitlist tells us. Sign up and indicate your preference โ€” we will reach out before registration opens.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ
Option A
Family-Friendly
Open to all ages. Parents and kids play together at the same table. A shared adventure that gives families something real to talk about on the drive home. No prior experience needed for anyone in the family.
๐Ÿบ
Option B
Adults Only (21+)
Adults-only evening sessions with more mature narrative complexity. Hosted at a venue with BYOB or bar access. The kind of game night that actually goes somewhere.

Inside a Session

Three hours of actual adventure

Same proven structure as the daytime tracks โ€” but paced for adult players who want more depth, more consequence, and more room to surprise themselves.

1
First 20 min
The Gathering
Characters arrive. The world picks up where it left off. Players set their intentions for the session.
2
60โ€“90 min
The Council
Rich narrative, real stakes, adult-level complexity. Mr. Vogt runs a session that respects your intelligence and rewards your choices.
3
45โ€“60 min
The Craft
Hands-on making tied to the session's story. You leave with something real โ€” not just a good time.
4
Last 15 min
The Debrief
What happened at the table? What does it connect to outside of it? Optional but usually the best conversation of the night.

Making Something Real

Seven crafts across June and July

Adult participants work the same craft disciplines as the daytime tracks with full independence and no hand-holding. You help choose which ones to work on through a brief survey sent after registration.

Common Questions

What people ask before they sign up

Do I need any experience with D&D or tabletop games?+
None at all. Mr. Vogt regularly runs tables with complete newcomers alongside experienced players. New players are oriented naturally through the story โ€” there is no homework, no rulebook to memorize, and no moment where you feel called out for not knowing something. If you have always been curious about tabletop roleplay, this is a welcoming place to start.
How will you decide which format runs?+
Format will be determined by waitlist interest. When you join the waitlist, you can note your preference โ€” family-friendly or adults-only. Once we have enough interest to confirm the session, we will reach out with the format decision before registration opens. If interest splits fairly evenly between both, we may run both formats on different days.
For the family format, how young is too young?+
The family format works best when the youngest player is old enough to follow a story and take simple turns โ€” generally 8 or older. Younger children can participate with a parent actively co-playing alongside them. If you are unsure whether your child's age is a good fit, reach out and we can talk through it before registration opens.
What do the craft materials cost?+
Materials are billed at cost with no markup. You will receive an estimate before each session so there are no surprises. Simpler crafts like map making and bookbinding run lower. More involved crafts like chainmail and resin casting run higher. You can always ask about a specific session's costs in advance.
What happens on Fridays?+
Friday is convergence day. The Mon/Wed group and the Tue/Thu group come together for a combined session where that week's craft artifacts enter the story. It is the weekly payoff โ€” when what you made becomes part of what the whole group is playing together.
What if the session does not fill to 6 players?+
If a session does not reach the 6-player minimum, registered participants are notified at least one week in advance and offered a transfer to another session or a full refund. No session runs below minimum.
Can I attend both June and July?+
Yes, and the story is built for it. The campaign continues across both months with growing stakes and narrative depth. The Both Months package at $1,000 covers both series plus two bonus items โ€” a 3D-printed dice box and an engraved tankard.
